July 2 : The download link is changed to hxxp:///tw/file.php June 18 : The site is set to redirect users to hxxp://5.79.100.218/_files/file.php According to researchers, the first and the last redirects were the most harmful ones and are believed to affect people from more than 30 countries. When people were willing to download VSDC-provided software, the download links redirected them to servers operated by cybercriminals. It seems that the main purpose of such hacking activity was to redirect people to predetermined websites.

The same raids were reported on June and at the beginning of July. However, the most shocking thing is that this attack was the third one in a few months already. Trying to be fully transparent, they also assured people that they are ready to take full responsibility for these events if someone of them got harmed. The company ensured its users that everything is under control and that attackers have already been stopped. The second week of July 2018 came with an unexpected statemet from the VSDC Video Editor team reporting about the attack detected on their website. Hackers from Lithuania are found to hack VSDC video editor website to redirect users to malicious websites. VSDC Video Editor team suffers from the attack causing redirects on their main website
